Who tells the story
There are a million different points to start this history, but I’m going to start with the Marshall plan in post WW2 Europe, for those who have heard of it, it is normally seen as a kind gesture from the U.S.A. toward war torn Europe, when in actuality it was a ploy to get more money into the pockets of U.S. capitalists.
The story especially in the U.S. of the governments sole drive to give more power and resources to its capitalist class is not by any natural accident, but the whole purpose and reason behind its existence, and that is as clear in the Marshall plan as in practically all government systems in place today.
So strap in and let’s dive into some history.
Rich People Want Fascism
So in the previous video we see the rise of U.S. corporations handed billions of dollars by the Marshall plan, in large part to destroy and Communist or Socialist movements, and to make sure that Europe was depended on the U.S. But how did Europe get Fascism in the first place, and why was the U.S. so scared of organized labor in Europe?
Organized labor with power and coordination is the biggest fear of a Capitalist, they will do anything in their power to convince the average person that there is no other way of organizing the world besides having the Capitalists at the top, and it is exactly this that birthed Fascism, not a popular movement led by the people, but a handful of “intellectuals” looking for a way to turn us on ourselves.
Neoliberalism, the Cult of the "market"
So what is Neoliberalism? A simple way of looking at it is the next step is building a system that puts the “market” above all else, it’s goal is simple yet complex, to enshrine the “market” as a thing that is sacred and needs to be protected.
The “market” in Neoliberlism isn’t simply the exchange of goods, it’s creating a global system where Capitalists live in a anarckistic captial lead world where their whims and wants are what drive the worlds infastructure, not where the needs of people are or society actually have.
Liberalism is an aesthetic
“We love Martin Luther King Jr.” except while he was actually alive and protesting only 27% of white Americans had a favorable rating of him, while today over 95% do, not because they realized the error in their ways, but because Liberalism supports what doesn’t affect them, if it causes any level of inconvenienced in their lives or how they think of themselves it has gone too far.
Why do we keep hearing supposedly Liberal and progressive politicians saying that they “don’t support” or are “horrified” by the treatment of immigrants into the US, while they continue all the same policies behind closed doors.
If you need clear proof just look at immigrant detentions throught the years, they continue to rire regardelss of administration.
It doesn't affect you, until it does.
During WW2 120,000 people were imprisoned in concentration camps in the U.S. over 2/3 of which were U.S. citizens, and even after the WW2 had ended they were still not allowed to return home, and were forcibly relocated against their will to wherever the U.S. government chose to send them.
Breaking people into arbitrary groups and making them think that the other is the “real” problem is a fundamental element of how modern governments and the rich elite work to keep people isolated and easily controlled, and making people think the problem is a different group of people makes you feel safe, until your group is the next one chosen.
